England regained some form in One Day International (ODI) cricket after coming back to win the three-match series against India. Adding to their T20I trophy, the Three Lions put in some excellent performances, with both bat and ball, which eventually resulted in the series win.

Amongst the three highest wicket-takers in the series, two were English and one from India. With the series being a three-match affair, bowlers did not take a plethora of wickets but still showed their prowess in tense situations and helped secure the win.
Here are the top three highest wicket-takers in the recently concluded ODI series between England and India:
England speedster Jofra Archer carried his excellent form from the T20I series to the ODIs. The right-arm pace bowler took five wickets from three matches at an economy rate of 5.66 whilst averaging 34. Archer took one wicket each in the first and the third ODIs of the series, whilst being slightly on the expensive side. The 31-year-old’s best game, however, came in the second ODI in Cardiff where he ended up with figures of 3 for 47. This included taking crucial scalps of Virat Kohli, Axar Patel and Shivam Dube to restrict India to just 233, which England chased down in relatively straightforward fashion.
Axar Patel ended up being India’s highest wicket-taker in the series, with five scalps to his name at an economy rate of just 5.47. His best outing in the series came in the first game at Edgbaston in Birmingham, where he took 4 for 62, the best individual figures by any bowler in the three-match contest. The spinner took the wickets of Liam Dawson, who was batting on 68, along with the rest of the tail to bundle England all out for 258 in the first innings. He had a great outing with the bat as well, scoring an unbeaten 57 to help India secure their only win in the series. Axar took one wicket in the second ODI before going wicketless in the final game at Lord’s.
England all-rounder Sam Curran was the pick of the bowlers in the series, ending up with six wickets from three matches. The left-arm seamer’s variation troubled Indian batters all series long, which was evident during the third ODI. Chasing 388, India had an outside chance heading into the death overs before Curran sent both Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer packing in the same over. The Surrey star ended up taking four wickets in the match, which also included the scalp of Kohli, who was batting on 74. Curran also took a wicket in each of the first two ODIs of the series to end up leading the wicket-taking leaderboard.
