The third T20I between India and Zimbabwe was the closest encounter in the three-match series. However, the encounter played at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday, July 26, was another comprehensive victory for the Men in Blue. In reply, Zimbabwe got off to a disastrous start as Mayank Yadav dismissed Brian Bennett on the first ball of the innings for the second time in the series. Ben Curran and Dion Myers stitched an enterprising 34-run stand off 21 balls before the latter was dismissed by Yash Thakur. The Indian seamer struck again off the following delivery, getting the better of Sikandar Raza. Curran tried to hang around and forge a partnership with Ryan Burl, however, he was eventually sent packing by Ravi Bishnoi.
Madhevere joined Burl in the middle and they forged 60-run partnership off 50 balls. Burl got himself to a half-century but Zimbabwe needed to hit a flurry of boundaries at the back end of the innings, which they couldn’t.
After Madhevere was dismissed for 28, Zimbabwe lost the wickets of Tadiwanashe Marumani and Brad Evans, while Burl finished unbeaten on 54 off 43 balls. The home side got to 157/7, losing the match by 35 runs. With this win, India completed a 3-0 whitewash.
